About our International Women Build
During International Build Week, Habitat for Humanity International and national sponsor partner Lowe’s will globally unite up to 6000 women to spotlight the need for safe, decent, affordable housing through Women Builds. Habitat for Humanity of Mesa County with partner Lowe’s Grand Junction will be joining in this global effort with our local event. The aim of our event is to encourage women to lend their power toward raising awareness of home affordability facing women in our community, while Lowe’s will provide hands-on training in, and value of, construction skills on our new Habitat homes. Visit Habitat Mesa Facebook Event for details.

On average, women who work construction and trade careers earn up to 30% more than traditional Female-dominated careers like administrative assistants and childcare. “International Women Build aims to bring this awareness about Habitat’s work while also giving women the opportunity to accomplish a construction project and develop a passion for home building and repairs – and potentially the construction field.

Habitat for Humanity of Mesa County is a nonprofit organization, which was founded in 1991. We have been devoted to building safe, decent affordable housing for families who find it difficult to buy a home of their own through our caring donors, volunteers, and dedication. We have built 79 homes locally and faithfully tithe to the global work of Habitat for Humanity International. Since 1976, Habitat International has served  29 million people by building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.  Together, our work is making an impact. Thank you.
